If you add the chair on top, the height increases to roughly 8 inches tall, without a figure in the seat. If you’re interested in displaying the Ecto-1 on a shelf, you should know it measures roughly 14 inches long, 5.5 inches wide, and 6 inches tall at its tallest point. You can switch the claw between retrieval and “free-wheeling mode” by moving the Ecto-1’s exhaust pipe left or right under the car (which is a clever design). If you place the claw in its “retrieval mode,” the claw will retract (pulling the ghost toward the vehicle) as the vehicle’s back wheels turn. The Kenner Classics Ecto-1 also includes a retractable claw that can be used to “catch” the included ghost figure, which measures slightly less than two inches tall. If you place the chair in the back of the vehicle, it fits into a fun slider that lets you move the chair forward and backward as you use your imagination to catch ghosts. The chair can quickly snap in place on the roof of the vehicle or behind the hatch at the rear of the Ecto-1. The chair can hold one of Hasbro’s other Kenner Classics Ghostbusters figures, which are sold separately (figures can also sit in the driver’s seat and passenger seat of the Ecto-1). You’ll also need to attach the chair to the Ecto-1. It includes a sticker sheet with stickers for the license plates, Ghostbusters door logos, and back window of the vehicle. The Kenner Classics Ecto-1 comes mostly pre-assembled and wrapped in tissue paper in a long cardboard box. Hasbro sent SuperParent these three toys to check out. With the “Kenner Classics” line, a new generation of Ghostbusters (and nostalgic adults) can live out some ghost-busting adventures without paying the premium prices the original toys go for on sites like eBay. The Kenner Classics Ecto-1 vehicle, Bug-Eye Ghost figure, and Fearsome Flush figure were inspired by the original Kenner versions of these toys from the 1980s. Additionally, last fall, Hasbro released the Plasma Series Spengler's Neutrona Wand, which was incredibly high-end, but was made to look poorly-constructed.SuperParent went hands-on with the Ecto-1 and two ghost figures.Įarlier this year, toy company Hasbro revealed three new toys inspired by The Real Ghostbusters animated series that debuted in the 1980s. The Ghostbusters Transformers Generations Ectotron Ecto-1 is on sale at Target for $60, and it's an Autobot that turns into the ECTO-1. If you love the movie franchise and Transformers, the two are reuniting once again. That's not all Hasbro has coming out for Ghostbusters. Regardless, the ECTO-1 is a fine collector piece for any Ghostbusters superfan. And while there are other Plasma Series action figures already available, those are six-inches tall and not to scale with the car. On the passenger side, the seat slides out, so someone could slide out to bust ghosts. The attention to detail on this car is tremendous, as Hasbro as given this iconic automobile a lot of wear and tear.Īs you can also see above, most of the doors on the car open up-aside from the driver's side back seat because that's where the Ghostbuster's equipment would normally stay. As we've seen in the recent Ghostbusters: Afterlife trailer, it's been sitting in a barn for who knows how long-probably a couple decades at the least. The ECTO-1 is very beaten up and has been rusting for quite some time.
